When you’ve completed a home renovation, the baseboards that connect your floor to the windows, the decorations around the windows and doors, and even the crowned lines on the ceiling are important design details that give you an exquisite sense of home. Even if you look at the magnificent bay window in a truly unique natural setting, the window can lose its appeal without the right alternative. Skirting boards, cladding, and trim strips also have important functions as they cover the seams between different types of surfaces and angles where leakages can occur and also protect them from water and other possible damage.

Medium-density fiberboards (MDF) are shaped, decorated, and skirting boards. Because it is one of the most economical and user-friendly options. MDF consists of wood fibers that are bonded together by heat, pressure, and various types of resin adhesives. The timber materials fibers are glued together. Resins and adhesives can contain high levels of formaldehyde that can be released over many years, especially if the MDF comes into contact with water.

    MDF Skirting

MDF is an artificial material called MDF. It is made from many materials, including softwood fibers and even recycled materials, and is then pressed into wooden boards in a crusher. There are many reasons why MDF is excellent. Unlike Pine, it has no kinks or imperfections, and the preparation time required for MDF is sufficient. This is because only the smoothness needs to be polished. The primer treatment to make the final MDF is also great as it can be made quickly.

If you choose MDF, you will be happy to know that it can adapt to almost any height required for baseboards. The size range on our website is between 70 mm and 400 mm, but can be below or above this height if necessary! If you need a better quality MDF board or a moisture-resistant board, the price of HDF (High-Density Fiberboard) is a little higher. However, it can be used in a segmented environment and produce higher quality fibers to make the surface smoother and tough.

    MDF Architrave

Because of its uniformity and the tendency to stay straight without splintering or warping, this quickly becomes a replacement for the solid wood version. It is an ideal choice for new construction and renovation projects as it is easy to install and can complete professional surfaces.

The peculiarity of the MDF production process is that this material is made from dry wood fibers with a binder and then processed into wooden boards by hot pressing and polishing. The main binder of the fiber is lignin, which is released from the wood when heated. Since the bidder is a natural but not a synthetic material, the environmental protection properties of MDF are realized. MDF is easy to saw, mill, and drill and is a good and comfortable material for all carpentry work. The strength of MDF is almost twice that of wood fiberboards. Compared to almost all boards, MDF has better moisture resistance and better mechanical properties. Besides, it is almost non-flammable, has a high physical and mechanical, biological, weather, and moisture resistance and at the same time is much cheaper than solid wood. MDF is steam-resistant and does not swell or warp.

    MDF window

Traditionally, the windowpane is made of the same material as the windowpane. Wood in particular has proven to be an effective threshold material, as it gives the outer walls of every house a traditional aesthetic and at the same time creates a warm atmosphere inside. However, the main disadvantage of using a wooden window sill has always been the price. The MDF window offers a solution to this problem. It offers high-quality solid wood aesthetics at a much cheaper price than wood.

    Benefits of MDF

Compared to strong cork or hardwood, MDF is a wood material. This means that it consists of homogeneous wood fibers and is combined with several layers of the melamine resin binder. Its name comes from the fact that its density is lower than that of hardwood but much higher than that of plywood and chipboard. Because of its many advantages, MDF Mouldings has become a very popular timber material for window panel construction:

    • The physical properties are very consistent
    • Cheaper than solid wood
    • Does not expand due to warming
    • Easy to shape and cut
    • Robust and very stable
    • Smooth surface

From the point of view, it is quickly the same as solid wood, and its structure allows even laypeople to use simple tools to cut and cut it into different shapes.
